LINC Youth Basketball Program

Basketball league begins November 28th at Lawrence Irvin Neighborhood Center with registration required prior. Program Director Dorian "Dodie" Dunson, Sr. is a Bloomington native and grew up playing basketball here.

"McLean County helped make me the person I am today, and now I try to help the LINC basketball players benefit from the strong roots and community support I had. For me, and for these kids, it's not just about playing basketball- it's about life." (Dodie Dunson, Sr.)

Lawrence Irvin Neighborhood Center Basketball

Our basketball coaches and supervisors serve as role models and mentors. We promote the importance of education and healthy lifestyles, as well as the dangers of gang and drug involvement.

Program leaders stay in contact with teachers and encourage behavior that helps students be successful on the basketball court, at school and in life. Individual successes are reflected in those that stay in school and make a postive contribution to the community. Collectively, our community benefits from reduced levels of gang-related violence and drug crime.
